Relaunching West & Walker in 2022

I'm so excited to bring West & Walker back! I've always loved creating, and as a new mum with a full time job and a husband who hits the hay early for his awful 3:15am alarm (I know!), it's actually quite a pleasure to tuck myself away in my office on an evening, with candles on and creativity in full-flow.

That being said, the early stages are hard. Whilst you're full of new-business-lust, it's quite often the case that you need to start small. Really small. So that's what I'm doing - with just one design! If you've followed me before, you'll know that I originally designed wallpaper under the name West by Design - I wrote a blog about why I closed it, here. When I first started, I took out a bank loan and ploughed loads of money into being perfect - expensive sample folders, loads of stationery - you know, all the 'bits' that make a business seem polished. Due to the reasons I explained in my previous blog, even creating new colourways of an existing design was tough. That's why I've chosen to start small, at the very beginning, and get it right. Drawing inspiration from the original designs, I'm developing new colourways and scales of the prints, whilst busying myself with new ideas and designs.

The name West & Walker shows who I was, and who I am now - a mix of the person I was before marriage and babies, and the Kim I am now. Luckily, the names roll off the tongue!
