Back By Popular Demand - The Bee!

Even after I'd closed my original wallpaper business a few years ago (read about it here), I was still getting requests every month for "one final print" of the bee wallpaper, which was so encouraging! Unfortunately I wasn't placed at the time to re-print, but I always knew he had more to give!

Once I knew I would be launching West & Walker as a new business, I jumped straight into redeveloping the bee design. As impactful and bold as the original was, I wanted to scale it down and offer a 'miniature' version - a much more pared back, gentle design. I took the scale down considerably, giving each bee a little more room to breathe. Once I was happy with the layout, I began my favourite part of any design - bringing it to life with background colours. I knew I wanted a soft, chalky finish over fresh, spring-like yet earthy tones, each linking back to bumble bees ad nature, and thus Honey, Lemon, Milk, Sage, Apple, Bloom, Dove and Clay colourways were born!
